Gillibrand To McCain On Military Sexual Assault: He was wrong then and he's wrong now (VIDEO)

New York Senator (D) Kirsten Gillibrand took John McCain to task for not supporting her bill that would remove sexual assault cases in the military from the chain of command. Gillibrand argues that the cases have been within the chain and yet still, the instances of assault within our armed forces are near epidemic.

About McCain’s dissent, Gillibrand said this:

“I respect Sen. McCain and we are friends, but with all due respect to him, he was wrong about Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and he was wrong about sexual assault in the military.”

She continued:

“Our job as members of Congress is to provide that oversight and accountability over the military, over the Department of Defense, and there is a growing chorus of military leaders who have even more experience than Sen. McCain who are saying, ‘This should be taken out of the chain of command.'”
